The FOD Advocacy Council (FODAC) is sponsoring the second annual SummerFest t-shirt design contest.  Designs must be submitted by April 13 to Becca Hubbard in 114 McCracken Power Plant. Download a blank design form or stop by Becca’s office to pick up one. Designs should be FOD, OSU, or SummerFest friendly. Contest winner will receive a prize and the option to have his/her signature incorporated into the design printed on the 2012 t-shirts. Get in touch with your creative side and good luck!

SummerFest 2012

Save the date ... Thursday, June 14, at Beekman Park.

This year's goal ... ZERO WASTE. Bins will be available for recycling, composting, and real trash.

Following the success of the Zero Waste events at the stadium with 75.3% being diverted away from the landfill, this year's SummerFest hopes to rival those numbers. Watch for more information.

ask lynn

If you wish to submit a question to Associate Vice President Lynn Readey, visit the online form available on FODnet. Comments and names will be kept confidential, but questions of interest to other staff members may be published in the Print & Post or other publications with appropriate answers and/or information to address the question. Here are two recent questions from Ask Lynn.

  1. Why do we move people from office to office, space to space?   Is there a master plan? It may be frustrating to either see or be part of an office move, but the driving factor is to get folks doing the right jobs at the right locations. Some moves are planned years in advance; some moves are prompted by disasters (i.e., floods, etc.)  that require "on the fly" adjustments. Some moves become necessary with organizational changes or other reporting line shifts. Space planning for a group as large, as complex, and as dynamic as FOD is a challenge. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we work to get our staff into workable space.
  2. With the move toward consolidation of additional services, can you give us an update on the IT merger? As you know, FOD, Administration and Planning, and Business & Finance consolidated the Information Technology (IT) resources. By merging into one group that services the needs of all business units, we have been able to gain efficiencies and leverage the skills and talents of the IT team. Like any organizational restructuring, we have had to make adjustments along the way. BFAP-IT continues to refine its services in support of each of the business units within Administration and Planning.
