The Cunz Hall Renovation Project is planned to be the first "LEED Renovation Project" at Ohio State with the goal of Silver certification when construction is complete in the fall of 2011.

This effort actually began well before the renovation design and construction was underway.   FOD’s “green” effort on this project began by either reusing or donating almost 100% of existing furniture from floors 1 through 4, the removal and reuse of the door hardware, the removal of various HVAC equipment items, and the removal 720 pounds of R11 refrigerant and 30 gallons of Texaco 68 oil from the building chiller to be reused at another campus location.

Cunz Hall project manager Nikolina Sevis and Denney Hall project manager Jackie Yakubowski joined efforts in salvaging more than 100 office light fixtures from Cunz Hall and reinstalled them in two separate projects in Denney Hall.

The demolition and abatement work has been completed, and FOD is poised to engage the contractors for this total building renovation project.  This project will renovate all floors of Cunz Hall to create offices and labs for the College of Public Health and several pool classrooms.
