EPA's Green Power Challenge

Ohio State was named the Big Ten Conference Champion in the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2014-15 College & University Green Power Challenge, for having the largest individual green power purchase among all the schools in the conference. Ohio State has won this honor for the last three years by using more than 130 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power, representing 21.97% of the annual electricity usage. Also for the third year in a row, the Big Ten Conference was named Collective Conference Champions out of 39 participating conferences.The EPA's Green Power Challenge recognizes organizations that lead by example by reducing their carbon footprint and investing in renewable energy. EPA's Green Power Partnership tracked the collegiate athletic conferences with the highest combined green power usage in the nation.
