Ohio State is a member of of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and participates in Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). AASHE STARS is a transparent, self-reporting framework for understanding sustainability in all sectors of higher education to gauge relative progress toward sustainability.
The Ohio State University is committed to proactively addressing the issue of global climate change. In 2008, the university signed the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), pledging to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. As an element of this commitment, Ohio State shares annual GHG emissions inventories on the ACUPCC website(link is external). These public emissions inventories demonstrate Ohio State’s dedication to the Climate Commitment and transparency.
