Beginning Monday (4/27) early morning and continuing through Sunday (5/3) late afternoon, there will be lane restrictions at the Brain and Spine Hospital Loop to reconfigure the island. Westbound traffic will be maintained.
On Saturday (4/25) from early morning to late afternoon, the eastbound lane of 12th Avenue by Postle Hall will be closed for a crane lift to Doan Hall. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the westbound lane with the assistance of traffic control officials. Access to Doan Hall and to the 12th Avenue Garage will be maintained. Signage will detour pedestrians to the north sidewalk.
The Ohio State University continues to navigate coronavirus (COVID-19) by taking steps to serve the best interests of our students, faculty, staff, patients and visitors. The university has assessed capital projects in an effort to increase financial liquidity until the full impact of COVID-19 is known.
All projects in our pipeline remain important to support our teaching, research and patient care missions. We also recognize the need to be prudent and cautious during these uncertain times. Most construction will continue as planned. However, following an evaluation, projects that can be slowed or modified have been identified.
Beginning Monday (4/20) early morning and continuing through Friday (4/24) late afternoon, the sidewalk around Newton Hall construction will be closed for utility work. Signage will detour pedestrians to the east sidewalk of Neil Ave. and the south sidewalk of 9th Ave.
On Friday (4/17) from early morning to late afternoon, College Road at Annie and John Glenn Avenue will experience a lane restriction to accommodate utility work. Traffic will be maintained with the assistance of traffic control officials.
The City of Columbus has announced that, from April 10 through April 20, a southbound lane of Olentangy River Road near Ackerman Road will experience lane restrictions at Olentangy River Road for City of Columbus utility work. This is work that previously was delayed.
On Saturday (4/11) from early morning to mid afternoon, 19th Avenue will be closed for a crane lift to the 140 West 19th Avenue building. Pedestrians will continue to use the south sidewalk. Alternate ADA parking is available at Arps Garage. Access to the parking spaces behind Evans Laboratory will be maintained via College Road.
From Tuesday (3/10) early morning and continuing through late afternoon, soil testing will occur at various locations in and around the new lacrosse stadium. Equipment will sit atop each location and collect soil samples at various depths. The equipment is approximately 20'x8' and will sound like a semitractor-trailer, with minimal fumes and an occasional "hammer" sound lasting for one minute. The exact schedule and order of drillings will be variable because of access, weather, and rate of progress.
