FOD Leaders Launch Women's ERG

The Women in Administration and Planning (A&P) Employee Resource Group (ERG) recently launched its inaugural event with a lively kickoff luncheon. The gathering brought together women and allies from across A&P who were eager to collaborate and learn more about the new initiative.

“I passionately believe in the power of mentorship, support and collaboration,” said Aparna Dial, senior director of sustainability and strategic services for Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) and executive sponsor of the ERG. “We are here to inspire each other, to break down barriers and to reach new heights in our careers.”

The ERG aims to inspire action and awareness at Ohio State for issues faced by women through their solidarity and the valued involvement of allies. In alignment with the university’s Shared Values and the A&P Diversity Plan for Inclusive Excellence, A&P will continue to promote a culture and environment of gender equity by supporting the focus areas of workplace culture and leadership advancement.

“In addition to excellence, care and compassion, integrity and respect, there are two pillars in Ohio State’s shared values dedicated to diversity and inclusion,” said Mary Leciejewski, Zero Waste manager for FOD and co-chair of the ERG. “We’ll use these as the foundation to the work our group will do.”

While the group is just coming together, the kickoff set a positive and exciting tone for what's to come.

"This is a platform for empowerment, networking, growth and change," said Brooke McKivergan, public relations specialist for A&P and co-chair of the ERG. "We're here to uplift and support one another, break barriers and create a more inclusive and equitable workplace for everyone."
