Lane Closures Along King Ave. Begin Thursday (5/2)

Beginning Thursday evening, May 2, and continuing through Saturday, May 4, King Avenue, between Old Cannon Drive and Cannon Drive, will be reduced to one lane in each direction. These lane closures are also scheduled to occur again May 17-19.

As previously shared, the lane closures will accommodate City of Columbus sewer work. Traffic delays are anticipated during this time. Motorists should plan accordingly and allow additional time for travel.

Summer Construction Roundup

Summer is prime time for construction as the university invests in the campus of the future. Multiple construction projects, starting on or around Mon. (5/6) will impact vehicles and pedestrians. A closure of College Road will detour traffic and CABS routes. Detours may be slow as construction reduces High Street to one lane in each direction. On campus, 11th Avenue will become one-way westbound. Review summer construction phasing maps online to plan ahead. You’re going places. Get there safely!

Cannon Drive / State Route 315 Entrance Ramp Update

UPDATED 12/2/18 - The entrance ramp to southbound State Route 315 at Cannon Drive and 12th Avenue is now open. 12th Avenue has reopened to Cannon Drive. Cannon Drive, between 12th Avenue and Medical Center Drive, has also reopened. Lane closures along Cannon Drive will occur, however traffic will be maintained in both directions.

Left turns from westbound Medical Center Drive to southbound Cannon Drive are not permitted. Westbound Med Center Drive traffic must turn left on Old Cannon Drive to access King Avenue.

Cannon Drive Pump Station

The straightening and elevating of Cannon Drive, which runs parallel to the Olentangy River, supports future growth of the university and the Wexner Medical Center and will create a certified levee to serve as future flood protection. As part of the Cannon Drive Relocation project, construction continues on a new pump station located at the southwest corner of Cannon Drive and Medical Center Drive. After heavy rain, the river elevation may rise above storm water outlets, making it difficult for storm water to flow easily from campus through storm water sewers and into the river.
