This year’s American Heart Association Heart Walk has special meaning for Coco Kneisly, administrative manager for Ohio State’s Facilities Operations and Development (FOD). Her father, Dr. Edmund “Ed” Byrne, passed away from congestive heart failure in October 2021.

It takes heart and determination to make a difference so it’s only natural that Ohio State’s Mark Conselyea turned to the American Heart Association when he wanted to find a cause to support.

“It’s a great organization,” Conselyea said. “It’s got a close connection with the Wexner Medical Center and things in which I’m actively involved.”

On Saturday (9/14), from approximately 4 p.m. to midnight, 12th Avenue between High Street and College Road will be closed for a block party sponsored by the MultiCultural Center.  Traffic will be detoured to 11th or 18th avenues during this time.  Expect delays and heavy pedestrian traffic.

Below are parking and transportation plans for staff who work in the Wexner Medical Center area during home football Saturdays.  Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and follow the directions of traffic control officers in this area.

Parking

Being a Buckeye takes on many forms, including giving back to the campus and the community. Generosity was on display this weekend as warmer weather welcomed green-focused clean-ups across the Columbus campus.

Students came together to tidy the Jennings Hall rain garden and Aronoff bioswale. The volunteers weeded beds, picked up trash and mulched while Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) supplied the mulch and a truck to place yard waste.

On Monday (8/21), from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuttle Park Place will close south of the Tuttle Garage, and Annie and John Glenn Avenue will close west of Neil Avenue. No thru traffic will be permitted. The North Express and Buckeye Village CABS routes will continue to stop at Ag. Campus, St. John Arena and RPAC Plaza but will not service additional central campus stops during that time. Commuters should plan ahead and allow extra travel time. View CABS routes.
