Brett Garrett

Senior Director of Operations

Brett Garrett is The Ohio State University’s senior director of operations. As a key member of Facilities Operations and Development (FOD), Brett has leadership responsibility for FOD’s GIS/Mapping, Landscape, Signage, and Support Services teams. In this role, Brett has a special focus on the university’s deferred maintenance strategy with the goal to increase the lifecycle of the university’s buildings and infrastructure and improve operational and program performance.  

Brett joined Ohio State in 2002 serving in a variety of roles, including senior engineer, operations support services leader, technical service director, special assistant to the associate vice president of Facilities Operations and Development (FOD), director of energy and sustainability, and senior director of energy. This broad background allows Brett to maintain a close working relationship with FDC and other groups throughout the university.

Before joining Ohio State, Brett worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation and R.D. Stolz and Associates Inc. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, and holds a State of Ohio professional engineer license.
