The Historic Mirror Lake District that has been under construction since fall 2016, which included the renovation of Mirror Lake, Browning Amphitheater and Pomerene and Oxley halls, officially removed its fences Aug. 10. The project budgets were more than $69 million, collectively.

Pomerene Hall Renovation Nearing Completion
The construction team will soon be packing up its equipment, as renovations of the historic Pomerene Hall are nearing completion. Late May 2018 is the target date for the new tenants of the building to start moving in. Pomerene Hall will house Translational Data Analytics, the Undergraduate Data Analytics Major and the Department of History of Art. Read more about the project.

Moving day is not far off for the new tenants of Pomerene Hall on the campus of The Ohio State University.
A tour last week reveals that more than a year of construction has turned one of the classic buildings on campus into a modern monument to advanced teaching and learning. Through the clamor of nail guns, circular saws and drills, the renovations are reaching their final stages.
Ohio State Looks To Mirror Lake's Future
The long-held tradition of jumping into Mirror Lake the Tuesday before the Ohio State-Michigan game came to an abrupt halt in 2015, where one student died from injuries sustained during the lake jump. Last year, the university started construction on the area, and this year, the re-development continues, with a finish date of summer 2018. Full story.
Construction Continues in Historic Mirror Lake District
Construction cones and chain link fences may obscure some of the view of the historic Mirror Lake District , but the pace of progress is moving fast at the iconic setting on The Ohio State University campus.
“Most of the major demolition work is done. The next piece is to get the utilities in place. That includes sewer and electricity,” said University Landscape Architect Steve Volkmann.
