Making Campus Sustainable

Energy Services and Sustainability serves as the focal point for Ohio State's sustainability efforts in building energy management, green building and construction, alternative transportation, sustainable materials management, in support of the university's core goals: teaching and learning, research and innovation, outreach and engagement and resource stewardship. Through education and innovation, we’re creating a sustainable campus.

Energy Conservation

We perform energy audits and implement energy conservation measures to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of campus infrastructure.

Alternative Transportation

We are committed to support sustainable modes of transportation in an effort to reduce the environmental impact associated with traveling.

Utility Metering

We are responsible for collecting meter data, installing and maintaining utility meters across campus.

We manage co-mingled recycling, organics recycling, and promote sustainable purchasing practices.

On the Columbus campus, we manage natural gas and electricity purchasing.

Sustainable Education

We support the development and implementation of energy and sustainability planning, education, and programming in support of the university’s core goals: Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, Outreach and Engagement, and Resource Stewardship.
