Student Volunteers Needed to Help Beautify Jennings Hall Rain Garden

Student volunteers are needed to help ready the Jennings Hall Rain Garden for spring. Saturday, April 1, 2017, beginning at 8:30 a.m., FOD and EHS staff along with the Bio Sci Greenhouses need the help of students to remove trash, weed, mulch and maintain the garden boxes. These efforts will ensure that this important stormwater facility maintains its beauty and functionality as a rain garden. Pizza will be provided to the willing participants.

For individuals or organizations interested in participating, please email FOD Safety Engineer Kent Halloran at Halloran.21@osu.edu and include an approximate number of volunteers by Friday, March 21. Kent is willing to attend organizational meetings to discuss the program and answer any questions.

FOD, EHS and the Bio Sci Greenhouses are grateful for the help they received from approximately 30 student volunteers in October 2016 for a similar project in the Jennings Hall Rain Garden. Since 2013, the garden has been maintained by students and student organizations interested in the environment, sustainability and volunteerism.
