In the News: Cannon Drive Phase II

Columbus Business First recently wrote about the university seeking Board of Trustees approval this week for Cannon Drive Phase II.

Cannon Drive Phase II will straighten the road near Woody Hayes Drive but Cannon Drive itself will largely remain at its current elevation. The $57 million project is focused on achieving a certified levee and flood protection. The levee will be constructed to the west between the roadway and the river and will provide 500-year flood protection.

Design will continue through 2022 with construction (including any demolition) to begin in 2023. Phase I was completed in December 2019 and realigned the stretch of road from King Avenue to John Herrick Drive.
