No Wasted Movement

Facilities Operations and Development’s Refuse division is reducing litter and carbon emissions, thanks to more efficient trash truck routes. Outdoor trash receptacles were relocated to central locations or moved closer to buildings to streamline collection. In addition, custodial and landscaping crews now assist in tipping trash cans near buildings. The collaboration helps drivers reduce time spent behind the wheel, freeing them for other jobs like recycling and composting. Drivers now are responsible for servicing 25 locations and dozens of trash cans at Ohio State.
