Clearing a Path on Campus: Ohio State’s snow removal process

The Ohio State University’s Columbus campus is home to more than 100,000 students, faculty, staff and visitors each day. When winter weather strikes, Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) and its partners work around the clock to clear 130 miles of sidewalks and 40 miles of campus roadways. FOD’s crews start while most Buckeyes sleep, working throughout the night to clear campus during snow storms or severe weather. On Wednesday, February 7, Ohio State's Columbus campus was hit with more than 4 inches of snow. FOD staff reported to campus at 2:30 a.m. to begin the snow removal process. Watch the process from start to finish.
