UPDATE - Beginning Friday (8/6), additional lane restrictions will result in one lane of traffic in each direction.

Beginning mid July through December 2022, Herrick Bridge will undergo scheduled renovation. Specific impacts will be published as they become known. Plan for delays and exercise additional caution in the area.

  • Throughout the project, the Olentangy Greenway Bike Trail will be closed under the bridge, and signage will direct cyclists to utilize the eastern route (along Cannon Dr.) between the Drake Center and SR-315.
  • Once roadway construction begins (appx. mid July), two-way traffic will be maintained over the bridge, with one lane in each direction. The sidewalk will close, with signage detouring pedestrians to the pedestrian bridge by the Drake Center. Beginning July 21, the existing impact on Herrick Dr. will extend from the Goss Lab entrance to Olentangy River Rd.

Increased cyclist and pedestrian traffic is anticipated along Cannon Dr., especially at the intersections of Herrick Dr. and the SR-315 on-ramp.  All are encouraged to avoid distractions, be mindful of additional modes of traffic in the area, and look out for fellow Buckeyes.  Visit sharetheroad.osu.edu for information about traffic safety.
