Tree Campus USA - 2020

For the ninth year in a row, The Ohio State University is proud to earn a Tree Campus USA recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation. Ohio State has received the distinction each year since it first applied in 2011. Tree Campus USA, an Arbor Day Foundation program launched in 2008, honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

The honor aligns with Ohio State's sustainability goals, including a commitment to increase the ecosystem services that campus lands provide to the university community.

To obtain the Tree Campus USA recognition, Ohio State met the five core standards for sustainable campus forestry required by Tree Campus USA, including establishment of a tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and the sponsorship of student service-learning projects.
