Oval Utility Tunnel Repairs to Impact Pedestrians

Ohio State Energy Partners (OSEP), ENGIE Services and The Ohio State University will begin work in early April to repair or replace 3,000 feet of aging utilities underneath The Oval.

Multiple phases of fencing are required on The Oval to support safety with configurations likely to change in April, May and August (see maps).

Heavier work will take place during the summer and into the fall to reduce impacts this spring. Crews will make every effort to minimize noise. Please anticipate heavy pedestrian impacts on and around The Oval during the project, scheduled to run through October. Upon completion of the project, reduced fencing will be required to assist in restoring the landscape.

The university transitioned management of utilities service operations to OSEP in July 2017, a partnership that launched an unprecedented energy efficiency program.

Anyone with questions should contact the project managers, FOD’s Al Stazzone or ENGIE Services’ Bryceson Nunley.
