State Route 315 Ramp Closures

Below is an overview of the SR-315 ramp closures that support the Cannon Drive Relocation project.

Northbound SR- 315 Exit Ramp to Medical Center Drive / King Avenue Closed 

ODOT to Begin Work on SR-315 between 3rd and King Avenues

The Ohio Department of Transportation's (ODOT) work on State Route 315 (between 3rd Avenue and King Avenue), originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 29, has been changed to start Monday, June 11. SR-315 will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction overnight for bridgework at 5th Avenue and King Avenue. Lane closures will take place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weeknights and 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekends. The expected completion is mid-July.

In the News: SR-315 ramps near OSU to close for several months

NBC4 reporter RIck Reitzel provided a preview of upcoming construction impacting SR-315 entrance and exit ramps near The Ohio State University. The closures support the Cannon Drive relocation project.

The SR-315 Medical Center ramp will be temporarily closing on May 7 and remain closed through Mid-August. The on-ramp to 315 from Cannon Drive will be closing from June 11 through late November.

New Shelter at Herrick Drive Transit Hub Opens

The new, enclosed shelter at the Herrick Drive Transit Hub will open on Saturday, April 14, as part of continued investments to support transportation and parking changes related to the Cannon Drive Relocation project. Amenities of the new shelter will include heating, cooling, wi-fi and seating. The temporary bus shelters located at the north and south ends of the site will be removed on Friday, April 13, to allow for final site work and so pedestrians may easily access the new shelter when it opens.

Below are parking and transportation plans for staff who work in the Wexner Medical Center area during home football Saturdays.  Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and follow the directions of traffic control officers in this area.

10th Avenue Lane Restrictions

On Monday, April 9, beginning at 9 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday, April 10, at 6 a.m., the eastbound lane of 10th Avenue between Medical Center Drive and Westpark Street will be closed for utility work. The westbound lane will remain open. Traffic delays around the area and service delays on the Martha Morehouse shuttle are anticipated during this time. This effort is in support of the Cannon Drive Relocation project.

On Monday, March 26, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing through mid-afternoon, the eastbound lane of 10th Avenue between Medical Center Drive and Westpark Street will be closed for utility work. The westbound lane will remain open. Traffic delays around the area and service delays on the Martha Morehouse shuttle are anticipated during this time. This effort is in support of the Cannon Drive Relocation project.

Cannon Drive Lane Restrictions

Update: This work has been rescheduled to occur on Sunday, March 18. Additional updates will be shared on this page.

On March 17, starting at 7 a.m. and continuing through mid-evening, Cannon Drive between John Herrick Drive and 12th Avenue will be reduced to one lane for a crane lift.  Traffic control officials will be onsite to maintain 2-way traffic in one lane.

Herrick Drive Sidewalk Impacts

Beginning Monday (2/26) and continuing through early May, the sidewalk on the south side of John Herrick Drive, between the Biomedical Research Tower (BRT) and Wiseman Hall, will be closed for construction of an emergency vehicle access drive east of BRT. Eastbound and westbound pedestrian traffic along this sidewalk will be detoured west of BRT or east of Wiseman Hall to access 12th Avenue. The construction is required for future phasing of the Cannon Drive relocation project.

Enclosed Shelter at Herrick Transit Hub

Construction of the new, enclosed shelter at the Herrick Drive Transit Hub began Tuesday, February 13. Pedestrian access will be maintained around the transit hub and along the crosswalks during the construction. Amenities of the new shelter will include heating, cooling and wi-fi. Construction of the shelter will occur over the next several weeks. Completion timelines are weather dependent and subject to change.
